The City of Santa Cruz proposes to remove and relocate portions of the existing multi-use coastal pathway at two locations along West Cliff Drive due to ongoing bluff erosion and wave overtopping hazards. Improvements include removal and reconstruction of pathway segments, construction of approximately 290 linear feet of new pathway, relocation of rest areas and memorial amenities, installation of fencing, erosion-response improvements, native landscaping, and removal of invasive vegetation. The work is intended to maintain safe public coastal access through managed retreat of vulnerable infrastructure.
