The City of Scotts Valley is requesting proposals from qualified pavement maintenance contractors to complete slurry seal improvements at three parking lots: two parking lots at SkyPark and one parking lot at Siltanen Park. Project locations and approximate areas are: SkyPark, 361 Kings Village Road: two parking lots totaling approximately 4,979 square yards Lot 1: approximately 2,207 square yards Lot 2: approximately 2,772 square yards Siltanen Park, 127 Vine Hill School Road: one parking lot totaling approximately 7,665 square yards The total project area is approximately 12,644 square yards. The work generally includes surface preparation and cleaning; protection of adjacent facilities, utilities, and improvements; application of slurry seal; and replacement of existing pavement markings and striping. Rubberized traffic paint or oil-based traffic paint is acceptable for pavement markings and striping. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, traffic control, site protection, and cleanup necessary to complete the project. Prospective contractors may visit the project locations at their convenience to inspect and verify existing site conditions before submitting a proposal. Work shall be coordinated with City staff to minimize impacts on park operations and public access. All work shall comply with applicable industry standards, manufacturer requirements, and City specifications. A request for qualifications does not commit the City to award a contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of the proposal, or to procure or contract for services and supplies. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received as a result of this request, to negotiate with any qualified source, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this request, if it is in the best interest of the City to do so. The City may require the consultant to participate in negotiations and to submit such price, technical or other revisions of the proposal as may result from negotiations.
