Reference Number 0000431458 The Gardner Public Improvement District (PID) c/o Huerfano County will receive Bids for its Sanitary Sewer Collection System Improvements, CDBG Project #22-522 project generally consisting with base bid of: placement of a maximum quantity of eight (8) new 4-foot I.D. manholes; installation of two (2) new 5-foot I.D. manholes; removal of nine (9) existing manholes; installation of approximately 2,986 lineal feet (LF) of 8-inch diameter SDR 35 polyvinylchloride (PVC) sanitary sewer collection system main replacement; installation of 40 LF of controlled low strength material around existing water line; bypass pumping; installation of 20 8" x 4" service line wyes to connect to existing sanitary sewer services, with the appropriate wyes, bends, fittings, with maximum 5 LF, unless noted otherwise, of 4" SDR 35 PVC pipe and connection to the existing line with a Fernco strongback coupling; installation of one (1) highway crossings to include 40 LF of 16-inch steel casing pipe; installation of 2,458 square yards (SY) of 6" thick asphalt replacement including removal and disposal of existing asphalt; placement of 0.4 acres of native grass seeding of disturbed ground; installation of 110 LF of 8" ductile iron pipe; installation of 183 LF of 8" PVC outfall piping; installation of outlet structure with rip-rap protection and 222 square yards of soil retention blanket; traffic control; erosion and sediment control; with additive alternative potential of placement of a maximum quantity of five (5) new 4-foot I.D. manholes; removal of five (5) existing manholes; installation of approximately 1,351 lineal feet (LF) of 8-inch diameter SDR 35 polyvinylchloride (PVC) sanitary sewer collection system main replacement; bypass pumping; installation of 17 8" x 4" service line wyes to connect to existing sanitary sewer services, with the appropriate wyes, bends, fittings, with maximum 5 LF, unless noted otherwise, of 4" SDR 35 PVC pipe and connection to the existing line with a Fernco strongback coupling; installation of two (2) highway crossings to include 105 LF of 16-inch steel casing pipe; remove and replace 300 SF concrete patio; installation of 230 square yards (SY) of 6" thick asphalt replacement including removal and disposal of existing asphalt; placement of 0.1 acres of native grass seeding of disturbed ground; and all incidental and miscellaneous items for a complete system in place; together with associated appurtenances and incidentals until 3:00 pm Mountain Time on the 10th day of September, 2026 at GMS, Inc., 611 N. Weber Street, Suite 300, Colorado Springs, CO at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Gardner PID c/o Huerfano County negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Prior to the awarding of the Contract, the Gardner PID c/o Huerfano County may defer its decision for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contracts.
