This project is being initiated under the Bridge Deck Preservation Program (SPMO) for various bridges in District 1, as a follow up to pavement preservation projects. The purpose of this project is to address deck deterioration, and to repair and replace membrane waterproofing system for bridges with a deck condition rating of 6 or less. The bridge expansion joint system will also be replaced with necessary repairs to bridge deck ends for all bridges. A strip, patch, membrane, and overlay (SPMO) treatment will strip off the existing wearing surface and membrane waterproofing on the bridge deck, patch the concrete bridge deck, install impermeable membrane waterproofing on top of the bridge deck, and then apply an overlay of asphalt pavement. The membrane and asphalt will protect the bridge deck from damaging moisture and deicing salts, thereby extending the service life of the bridge deck and maintaining the state of good repair. This contract is scheduled to be advertised on January 20, 2027, with a scope of "L". - $ 30,000,000 - $ 39,999,999 The CTDOT, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to cancel this solicitation and terminate the process to retain consultant services, and is under no obligation to contract for the services specified herein. The CTDOT reserves the right to add other assignments of a similar nature to this selection process should the need arise prior to the interview phase.
