Description of Work: The project involves the construction of a 40 ft. x 46 ft. service building addition at the City of Greencastle's wastewater treatment plant. The building will be extended from an existing maintenance building. The building will include a bathroom, sanitary lateral with grinder pump, ventilation fan system, and a natural gas heating system. The structure will require a Construction Design Release from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security by the approved builder/supplier. WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT A. CONTRACTOR shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment and means to construct the pipeline(s) and other Work as described in the Contract Documents and shown on the Drawings. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Development and implementation of groundwater dewatering measures, as required, during construction. 2. Development and implementation of sewer flow control measures, as required, during construction. 3. Protection of all existing utilities, including all appurtenances and service lines. 4. Excavation and field identification of utilities that cannot be precisely located by OWNER. 5. Guarding and protecting the work site, equipment and stored materials. 6. Excavation and backfilling of trenches and pits including removal and disposal of surplus excavated material. Provide an install granular and clean backfill as required. 7. Sheeting, bracing and support of adjoining ground where necessary to protect workers, newly installed utilities, as well as existing utilities, roadways, structures, or other appurtenances, etc. 8. Unloading, loading, hauling, distributing, laying and testing the pipe and appurtenances within the project area. Use of private property in any way shall be done only if written approval is obtained from the property owner by the CONTRACTOR. 9. Installation of gravity drainage pipes, a sanitary manhole, a grinder pump station, low pressure force main, and all appurtenances necessary to supply a complete and operable system as specified in the Plans and Specifications. 10. Testing as specified in the Plans and Specifications. 11. Site cleaning and maintenance on a regular basis such that all activities are completed and left in a workmanlike manner each day. 12. Installation and maintenance of all required erosion control facilities, materials and practices. 13. Maintenance of street or other surfaces as required. 14. Restoration of paved surfaces, when disturbed or damaged. 15. Ground restoration, planting and watering. 16. Submit schedules, shop drawings , pay applications, record drawings and other required paperwork. 17. Compliance with all permitting agency requirements including the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and the OWNER. 18. Provide and install all equipment and materials required for complete, functioning systems. 19. Coordinate with existing utilities and services and relocate as necessary.20.
