Under this Request for Expressions of Interest (the "RFEOI"), the City of Vancouver (the "City") is seeking expressions of interest ("Expressions of Interest") from suppliers and manufacturers capable of providing a vandal resistant, durable, fully accessible, single occupant public restroom unit suitable for continuous outdoor public use. Interested parties ("Respondents") are required to respond to this RFEOI in accordance with the instructions set forth in this RFEOI. The City of Vancouver is seeking a prefabricated, standalone public restroom unit designed for high frequency use, vandal resistance, public safety, ease of maintenance, and long-term durability in an urban outdoor environment. The unit must be suitable for year-round operation in Vancouver climate conditions. 4.0 Description of Products and Services The City seeks Expressions of Interest from Respondents who have expertise in Vandal Resistant, Accessible Public Restroom Unit (Supply & Manafacturing), includes but not limited to 4.1. Technical Specifications 4.1.1. Dimensions and Structure The proposed unit should generally align with the following parameters: A footprint suitable for constrained urban environment Interior space sufficient to accommodate a wheelchair and mobility aids Structural mass and robustness appropriate for high use public infrastructure be self-supporting and designed for anchoring to a concrete foundation. rimary construction material to be heavy gauge stainless steel Stainless steel grade 304 minimum, with option for 316 grade for coastal or corrosive environments Exterior and interior surfaces to be finished with a durable anti graffiti and corrosion resistant coating Panels to be modular and replaceable to allow for individual component replacement Roof and wall construction to be fully weather resistant 4.1.3. Accessibility Fully accessible single occupant layout Door width and clearances to meet applicable accessibility standards Interior grab bars and fixtures to be accessible and ergonomically placed o Door hardware to be easy to operate 4.1.4. Ventilation and Visibility Natural ventilation through fixed, angled louver openings located at the upper and lower portions of the walls Design to allow passive visibility from the exterior to support public safety and misuse deterrence 4.1.5. Lighting and Power Energy efficient LED interior and exterior lighting o Motion activated lighting controls Solar powered electrical system preferred, including battery storage Optional hard wired AC power capability Skylight or daylight panel to provide natural interior lighting 4.1.6. Plumbing and Utilities o Connection to municipal water and sanitary sewer Low flow commercial grade toilet fixture Exterior mounted hand-washing station or sink Rear or internal utility compartment for plumbing and electrical access 4.1.7. Flooring and Drainage Respondents must provide a civil foundation drawing identifying: o Foundation dimensions and load requirements The City of Vancouver is seeking a prefabricated, standalone public restroom unit designed for high frequency use, vandal resistance, public safety, ease of maintenance, and long-term durability in an urban outdoor environment. The unit must be suitable for year-round operation in Vancouver climate conditions.
