Mechanical cooling equipment replacement project involving chillers, condensers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, selective demolition, sheet metal flashing/trim, and firestopping. The scope of the project includes the replacement of three Chiller Plants across six of the campus buildings (Building 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10E & 10W). A new centralized chiller plant will be installed in building 7 and piping connections will be made between building 6 & 7 to feed both buildings. The existing chiller plant in building 6 will be demolished. A new centralized chiller plant will also be installed in building 9 and piping connections will be made between buildings 8 & 9 to feed both buildings. Building 10 East will have its chiller plant upgraded . The building 10 W chiller plant will be used for temporary cooling while the chiller plant replacement is building 10 E is completed. Once complete, the Building 10W plant will be demolished. Buildings Cooling must remain operational during construction to maintain cooling supply for critical IT spaces and building cooling. The scope to be included in the future tender resulting from this prequalification includes: The Mechanical scope will include the isolation, demolition, removal and disposal of the existing mechanical system and the procurement, installation, startup and commissioning of the new mechanical systems as outlined in the project documentation. This will include but will not be limited to new pumps, Cooling Towers, Air Cooled Chillers, Piping, Controls, as outlined in the drawing packages. Include and coordinate all inspections with the Authority Having Jurisdiction. The Mechanical Subcontractor will be responsible for Hot Tapping and connecting into operational chiller system piping to interconnect Chilled water piping between buildings to ensure uninterrupted cooling during construction. The Mechanical Subcontractor will be required to provide project schedules for the mechanical work. EllisDon will utilize Touchplan for daily scheduling activities. All trades will be required to implement and update their project schedules in Touchplan on a weekly basis.
