Larry Poppler, White Bear Township, larry.poppler@whitebeartownship.org Questions received less than seven [four] [other] days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. 3 EACH Clearing 1 EACH Const Drainage Structure Design SD-60 795 CU YD Excavation - Common 1 EACH Const Drainage Control Structure 190 CU YD Common Topsoil Borrow 1100 SQ YD Rolled Erosion Prevention Category 25 40 LIN FT 12" RC Pipe Sewer Class 5 III EACH Coniferous Shrub 4' Ht Cont 31 LIN FT 30" RC Pipe Sewer Class 3 III EACH Coniferous Shrub 3' Ht Cont Construction consisting of clearing, excavation, drainage structure installation, common topsoil borrow, erosion prevention, reinforced concrete pipe sewer installation, and shrub planting. A. Set-up traffic control. B. Install inlet protection on catch basins, install sediment control log. C. Reclaim roadway and removals. D. Install proposed storm sewer E. Prepare road subbase and base. F. Install concrete curb and gutter. G. Adjust manholes and valve boxes. H. Pave bituminous surface. I. Backfill curbs with topsoil. J. Restoration and all other miscellaneous work shown on the Plans and included in these Specifications. WORK UNDER OTHER CONTRACTS. The Contractor shall coordinate Work with any private utility contractor that may be working within the Project area and contractor performing removals and rough Site grading. No direct compensation will be made to the Contractor for delays in the Contract construction schedule due to the construction activities of small utilities. All compensation for coordination activities shall be incidental to the Contractor's mobilization costs. CONTRACTOR USE OF PREMISES. The Contractor operations shall be confined to the areas covered in right-of-way and easements granted to the Owner. Any procedures by the Contractor of any sort beyond the limits indicated shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor who shall save the Owner harmless from any claim for damages due to trespassing. It is the intent of the Owner to have all easements secured prior to commencement of the Work; however, if the easements have not been finally secured, the Contractor shall amend the construction sequence accordingly until such time as it is possible to work within easements. WORK SEQUENCE. The Project consists of one Project area. Once construction commences, the Contractor will be expected to work diligently to complete all components until the base material has been graded and the non-wearing bituminous pavement has been placed. Restoration shall be completed in accordance with the Drawings and Section 32 30 00. The Contractor shall begin by establishing traffic control and installing inlet protection as shown in the construction Plans. The Work shall generally be completed in two phases. Phase 1 1. Install Traffic Control 2. Install Erosion Control 3. Removals Phase 2 1. Install all utilities and appurtenances. 2. Pond Excavation 3. Adjust structures. 4. Turf Restoration Water for dust control shall be considered incidental and furnished and applied when necessary or as ordered by the Engineer. Water shall be from Township sources but applied by the Contractor. Perform testing, cleanup, and all other items required of the Plans and Specifications. All testing is to be organized and paid for by the Contractor. 1.05 TRAFFIC CONTROL. Neighboring streets are residential streets and residents must have access at all times. Temporary short term road closures are acceptable with the approval of the Engineer. 1.06 QUANTITIES. The quantities of materials noted in the Bid are estimates and the quantities may increase or decrease as necessary to complete the required Work. No additional compensation will be considered as a result of a significant increase or decrease in these quantities. 1.07 TESTING. The contractor is responsible for the cost of, organization of, and sequencing of all testing according to the specifications.
