Install a new parallel fire alarm system across a 14-building campus totaling over 1 million square feet. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to install new conduits, boxes, fiber optics, wiring, devices, control panels, annunciators, and associated communications infrastructure in accordance with current NFPA and VA requirements. The new system must remain operational in parallel with the existing fire alarm system during testing and commissioning by temporarily mounting new panels and annunciators above the existing equipment. The new fire alarm system will incorporate and coordinate with selected existing systems and equipment in Building 100 Sterile Processing (Wing GA), the Emergency Department (Wing 1C), Mental Health (Wing 6C), Fisher House 1, Fisher House 2, and Building 107. New control panels and communication connections to Building 107 are required, while certain existing equipment will remain in service with additional devices installed as needed to achieve code compliance. Upon successful testing and acceptance of the new system, relocate the new panels and annunciators into the existing cabinets or enclosures, reroute wiring as required, and remove the existing fire alarm system, including old conduits, boxes, fiber optics, wiring, devices, control panels, and annunciators. Repair and restore all walls, ceilings, and other architectural features affected by installation and demolition activities. Location: James J.
