Description: The City of Wichita has unveiled a new downtown master plan that includes reducing travel lanes along Douglas Avenue and Broadway to expand pedestrian and streetscape opportunities, development of a riverfront corridor, construction of new performing arts and convention centers, implementation of a downtown shuttle system, and the addition of approximately 5,000 housing units in the downtown area. The initiative represents a large-scale public redevelopment effort in downtown Wichita.
