Reference Number 0000434746 BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES This Scope of work is for replacement/upgrade of 102 existing guardrail sites throughout the County to current safety standards (Jefferson County Project 4099) all as more fully set forth in the bid package. This project is funded by the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program, with oversight by the Colorado Department of Transportation. All work will occur off the National & State Highway. The Work will be performed per the terms and conditions of the contracts. The Bid Package includes the constructions plans and specifications. The construction work will include the following: the removal and replacement of an existing span of guardrail with a modern compliant system . The contractor shall replace in kind, except where explicitly noted in the construction plans, as per the revised CDOT Specification M -606-1 included in the plan details. No utility work is anticipated with this project, but the Contractor shall coordinate with utility companies if any conflicts are encountered on site. The contractor is responsible for all necessary traffic control measures during construction and for reducing the impact to traffic. The Contractor is to coordinate any impacts with the local fire district for each site. The project work also consists of the installation of the necessary erosion control measures. No revegetation/seeding is within the scope, unless damaged by the Contractor. The contractor shall not be allowed to perform any roadway closures without explicit permission and a documented detour plan approved by the County Project Engineer..
