The County is receiving funds from the Natural Resource Conservation Service ("NRCS") Emergency Watershed Protection ("EWP") Program. The County is releasing this ITB with the intent to receive bids from qualified contractors to provide construction services for eight (8) stream/canal remediation and stabilization sites in Hardee County. The detailed scope of work is provided below. The County is seeking to engage a qualified contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the stream and canal remediation and stabilization improvements in accordance with the ITB and awarded contract (collectively "Contract Documents"). 1. SCOPE There are eight (8) creek/canal systems in the vicinity of County maintained right-of-way within Hardee County that require remediation and stabilization. These sites are identified below and are depicted on the attached maps (EXHIBIT A). Dansby Road and Troublesome Creek: Sod placement and debris removal (approximately 600-LF). South Florida Avenue: Sod, debris removal (approximately 1,300-LF), and sediment removal. Airport Road and Max Branch (Airport Rd I Ian): Debris removal (approximately 1,200- LF). Airport Road and Drainage Channel (Airport Rd II Ian): Debris removal (approximately 1,800-LF). Old Town Creek Road (Old Town Rd Ian): Debris removal (approximately 1,000-LF). Hawaiian Drive: Riprap, debris removal (approximately 400-LF), excavation, and backfill (placed and compacted). Circle Drive: Sod, riprap, geotextile, debris removal (approximately 650-LF), excavation, backfill (placed and compacted), and sheet pile (150-LF of wall with concrete caps). Hanchey Road: Sod, riprap, geotextile, debris removal (approximately 400-LF), excavation, and backfill (placed and compacted). The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, mobilization, maintenance of traffic (if required), erosion and sediment control, and incidentals necessary to complete the work as shown in the Contract Documents. Work shall include, but is not limited to: a. Mobilization and Demobilization b. Debris removal and lawful disposal, including vegetative and storm-related debris c. Sediment removal and excavation as required d. Furnish and install sod in all areas disturbed by construction e. Furnish and install riprap and geotextile in accordance with the plans and specifications f. Furnish and install sheet piling and concrete caps at Circle Drive g. Backfilling and compaction as specified h. Site restoration to pre-construction grades where applicable i. Compliance with NRCS EWP requirements and applicable FDOT standards, whichever is more stringent j. Coordination with the County and applicable agencies during construction The contractor shall be responsible for verifying field conditions prior to construction and shall immediately notify the County of any discrepancies. The Hardee County Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
