Reference Number 0000435182 Enclose two existing lean-to bays on the Salt Storage Building. The project involves structural enclosure of two roof-only structures, with the North lean-to measuring 24' x 108' and the South lean-to measuring 24' x 50'. General Requirements - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 10 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % The Village of Addison is seeking bids to enclose two existing lean-to bays on the Salt Storage Building located at 1491 Jeffrey Drive Addison, II . 60101. The existing lean-to bays are roof only structures measured as follows, the lean-to on the North side is 24' x 108'. The lean-to on the South side is 24' x 50'. The not-to-exceed bid price provided by the successful bidder shall include a complete unit price for all materials, parts, labor, and/or misc. equipment not specifically mentioned to provide a complete "turn-key" project. Scope of Work The Village of Addison requires the following scope of work to be performed on this project: 1) Concrete: Saw cut and excavate existing asphalt as needed to install proper footings to support the new walls. Excavation depth shall be a minimum of 48". Rebar shall be placed in the footings in a standard and customary manner. 2) Framing: all material used for framing shall be construction grade No. 2 SPF or equal. All bottom plate lumber shall be pressure treated. Vapor barrier shall be used to prevent direct contact with the footing. 3) Exterior wall covering: T1-11 1/2 " thick exterior grade wood siding and trim will be installed to match the existing building. All hardware, fasteners and nails shall be hot dipped galvanized. 4) Doors: Two 36" x 80" Fiberglass exterior rated personnel doors shall be installed at the locations selected by the owner. The new doors should open out and match (as close as possible) the existing personnel door on the West elevation. Six DBCI 2500 series (or approved equal) roll up doors will be installed as follows, North lean-to: (2) 18' x 14' doors mounted on the East and West ends and (2) 18' x 12' doors mounted on the North side facing the Public Works Building. The exact location on that wall TBD. The South lean-to (1 ) 18' x 14' door mounted on the West end and ( 1 ) 18' x 12' door mounted on the South side at the far East end. All roll up doors will have electric openers and chain drives for manual operation during power outages. Personnel doors shall include matching handles keyed alike. All roll up doors will include two (2) remote controls, interior push button station and a wireless exterior keypad. 5) Door framing: All framing of the door openings shall be done per the door manufacturer's specifications for size of the openings and the construction configuration. 6) Electric: Wall switches shall be installed next to each personnel door and wired to control the existing overhead lights. All electric for the roll up door openers shall be run and wired to the existing breaker panel using open breaker locations. All electrical work is to be done to current building electrical codes. 7) Protective bollards: 8" steel pipe bollards will be placed outside on each side of all roll up doors. Two bollards will be placed at each corner of the lean-to bays. The bollards shall extend at least 50" above and 48" below grade and must be set in and filled with concrete. They are to be painted with a rust inhibitor and plastic yellow bollard covers shall be installed. 8) Finishes: All exterior siding, trim and moldings shall be painted and stained to match the existing building. 9) Windows: Provide and install clerestory windows in the upper wall sections on panels without roll up doors.
