The Byron Fire Protection District is requesting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for removal of existing floor coatings, concrete surface preparation, repair, and installation of a polyurea / polyaspartic flake floor coating system (Evolution Flake) at the Byron Fire Protection District facility. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to complete a turn-key installation. All labor must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Scope of Work The contractor shall complete the following: Surface Preparation o Remove excess media broadcast and existing coatings o Diamond grind/profile concrete for proper adhesion o Profile cracks and imperfections Concrete Repair o Apply two-part mender crack and pit repair o Grind repairs smooth to match surrounding surface Coating System Installation o Apply polyurea basecoat o Broadcast acrylic flake chips to rejection o Remove excess flakes and prepare surface o Apply polyaspartic topcoat o Apply resistance sprayon coating o Install Tek Grip slip-resistant additive (4 oz per gallon) Vertical Surfaces o Apply coating system to designated vertical surfaces where required.
