The new sludge storage basin is to be constructed of reinforced concrete with a length of approximately 190' , a width of approximately 40' , and a depth of 16' (liquid depth of approximately 14'). The basin is proposed to be divided into three (3) sections to allow staff flexibility in the storage volume used and to allow for maintenance. A fine bubble aeration system consisting of three (3) variable speed blowers, each approximately 100 hp, and floor mounted, pad style, fine bubble diffusers is proposed. Dissolved oxygen (DO) and liquid level are proposed to be monitored and integrated into the control system . The addition of air is to be variable with input time and DO parameters to increase or slow biological processes to achieve the proper sludge profile while also allowing for mixing to occur in the basin. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bid Documents shall be submitted to the City in writing. In the event the Contractor elects to bid an air diffuser system that does not comply with the above experience requirements, then the Contractor shall submit with their bid, a three-year maintenance bond executed by an Officer of the Aeration Manufacturer in the amount of 150% of the aeration system price guaranteeing repair or replacement of the air diffusion system in the event of a failure for a period of three years after the specified warranty.
