Site work, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in Alexandria, Virginia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 11,000-square-foot day care center; for site work for a day care center; sidewalk / parking lot; and for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Consists of a new 11,000 square-foot (SF) single story interior renovation of the existing community center. The renovation will provide three (3) pre-k classrooms and four (4) infant/toddler classrooms, a central indoor play area, a warming kitchen, staff offices, conference rooms, and a breakroom as well as two age-appropriate outdoor play areas adjacent to the new childcare center, a new turf field with sports lighting, and improvements to the existing parking lot to allow bus access. Question Deadline 09/28/2026 All questions concerning this Prequalification Application procedure shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Building Design and Construction Division, e-mail address: building@fairfaxcounty.gov, and to be given consideration, such questions and concerns must be received at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the deadline for submittal of the Prequalification Application indicated in the Invitation to Apply for Prequalification The overall construction duration is planned to be approximately 18 months. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any or all applications, and to waive informalities and irregularities in the prequalification application procedure.
