Renovation of a mixed-use development in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The Mount Pleasant Area School District is soliciting bids for the Kitchen Equipment Replacement Project at Jr. and Sr. High School Donegal Elementary School Norvelt Elementary School and Ramsay Elementary SchooL Food Service Equipment Contractor (FSEC) is to demo existing kitchen equipment as well as provide and set all new equipment as called out on drawings. FSEC to provide ductwork as called out on drawings for new dish machines for HVAC contractor to install. At the Junior/Senior High School, FSEC Prime Contractor is to replace the existing walk-in freezer evaporator coils as well as the condensing unit on the roof. FSEC is responsible for necessary piping modifications as well for refrigeration and condensate piping. Plumbing Contractor to disconnect/reconnect and reconnect drain piping for dish machines at each school as shown on drawings. There will be a new grease interceptor at Donegal Elementary school that will be provided by the plumbing contractor. HVAC Prime Contractor is to disconnect and reconnect ductwork for new dish machines. HVAC Prime Contractor is also responsible for providing new exhaust fans at Norvelt Elementary School and Donegal Elementary school. Electrical Contractor to disconnect power for all components from existing dish machines at each school and reconnect power to new dish machine components. Electrical Contractor is responsible for any new electrical circuits that may be needed for the new dish machines, booster pumps, exhaust fans, or ovens. Electrical Contractor is also responsible for disconnecting existing condensing units and evaporators and connecting new condensing units and evaporators at the Junior/Senior High School. Electrical Prime Contractor is to provide power for new exhaust fan at Donegal Elementary School. Work at Ramsay Elementary School and Norvelt Elementary School is figured to be bid as second shift work since it will occur during school being in session. The Junior/Senior High School and Donegal Elementary School will be bid as first shift work since it will be completed during the summer of 2027. Prime Contractors are expected to coordinate work and work together to complete work at each school. The prime bid packages for plumbing HVAC and electrical have been received and will be awarded along with the Food Service Equipment Contract after the approval at the board meeting on November 4 2026. This project is fully Federally Funded under the National School Lunch Program. This project will be using Davis Bacon Wages. When possible the recipient or subrecipient should ensure that small businesses minority businesses womens business enterprises veteran-owned businesses and labor surplus area firms (See U.S. Department of Labors list) are considered as set forth below. The School District has the right to Reject Bids._ The School District reserves the right to reject all proposals. The district may at its discretion accept an alternative proposal that meets the needs of the district in a manner consistent with its educational objectives.
