Renovation of a military facility in Pomona, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
The Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, bonds, licenses, insurance, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees to replace four (4) existing obsolete shower valve assemblies, replace existing restroom toilet partitions and associated hardware, and replace the existing exhaust fan serving the restroom and shower area. The prime contractor MUST possess a type B - General Building Contractor license. Contractor shall have 180 calendar days to complete the Work. If the proposed bid amount exceeds $24,999.99, the contractor must submit a bid bond in the amount of at least 10% of the bid amount with the bid packet utilizing a bond form provided by the Surety. The DVBE Participation Program applies, and a five percent (5%) goal is required for this IFB., SBE (25%) Q/A:- All questions regarding this IFB MUST be submitted to Joy Lubic at Joy.Lubic@cmd.ca.gov no later than 5:00 PM on 9/23/2026. The purpose of this project is to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, disposal , and incidentals necessary to replace four (4) existing obsolete shower valve assemblies, replace existing restroom toilet partitions and associated hardware, and replace the existing exhaust fan serving the restroom and shower area at the California Army National Guard facility located at 1700 E. First Street, Pomona, CA 91766. The existing shower area contains four (4) showers with aging and obsolete shower valve assemblies. Replacement parts for the existing shower valves are no longer readily available. Currently, only two (2) of the four (4) showers are operational . Replacement of all four (4) shower valve assemblies is required to provide a uniform , reliable, and maintainable shower system. The existing restroom toilet partitions are old wood construction and are missing door latches and other associated hardware. The existing toilet partition system shall be removed and replaced with new commercial-grade partitions and associated hardware. Existing toilet paper holders and toilet seat cover dispensers shall be removed and replaced with the new accessories. The existing restroom/shower exhaust fan is outdated and does not provide sufficient airflow for the restroom and shower area. The existing exhaust fan shall be removed and replaced with a new exhaust fan appropriately sized to provide adequate ventilation for the space. The completed project shall restore the functionality, safety, durability, and ventilation of the restroom and shower area while complying with all applicable federal , state, and local codes and California Military Department requirements. Shower Valve Replacement Remove the existing shower valve assemblies from all four (4) showers. Remove existing shower handles, trim , and associated components as necessary. Carefully remove existing shower wall tile as necessary to access the valve assemblies. Furnish and install four (4) new commercially available shower valve/mixing assemblies, one (1 ) complete assembly for each shower, including all required valves, fittings, connections, handles, trim , and associated components. Modify existing plumbing connections as necessary to accommodate the new valve assemblies. Test each shower for proper operation, water flow, temperature control , and leaks. Restore shower wall surfaces, waterproofing, backer board, and tile disturbed during the work in accordance with Section 3 Toilet Partition Replacement Remove and dispose of the existing wood toilet partitions, doors, hardware, and associated components. Furnish and install new commercial-grade toilet partitions, doors, hardware, and latches compatible with the existing restroom configuration . Install partitions securely, plumb, level , and properly aligned. Furnish and install all required partition mounting hardware, brackets, supports, and anchorage necessary for a complete installation. Remove and dispose of all existing toilet paper holders, toilet seat cover dispensers, and associated accessories. Furnish and install new commercial-grade toilet paper holders and toilet seat cover dispensers. Adjust all doors and hardware for proper operation and latching. Exhaust Fan Replacement Remove and dispose of the existing rooftop exhaust fan assembly, including theexisting dome/weather cap and associated components located above the existing roof curb. Remove and dispose of the existing electrical conduit and associated wiring supplying power to the exhaust fan where exposed and located along the rooftop. Furnish and install one (1 ) new commercial-grade rooftop exhaust fan assembly serving the restroom and shower area. The replacement exhaust fan shall provide a minimum of 200 CFM of exhaust airflow and shall provide additional capacity where required to meet applicable ventilation and building code requirements. The replacement fan shall be compatible with the existing 115-volt, single-phase, 60 Hz electrical service. Furnish and install new electrical conduit, conductors, fittings, connectors, supports, and associated components necessary to provide power from the existing electrical connection to the new exhaust fan . New rooftop electrical conduit shall be installed and supported in accordance with applicable electrical codes and manufacturer requirements and shall be suitable for exterior rooftop exposure. Furnish and install all required curb adapters, mounting components, weatherproofing materials, flashing, sealants, fasteners, and associated components necessary for a complete installation. Inspect the existing roof curb and notify the Contract Manager of any deterioration
