A ten percent (10%) bid security by certified or cashier's check from a responsible bank, cash or an original bidder'ssecurity issued and executed by an admitted surety insurer authorized to transactsurety insurance in California, made payable to the order of the County of Orange in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if it is awarded to the bidder. In the event the bidder to which the Contract is awarded fails to provide bonds and insurance and meet other preconditions to the County's execution of the Contract in a timely manner, the proceeds of the check or cash or the full sum of the bidder's bond will be forfeited to the County. The work to be done consists, in general, of roadway, drainage, and erosion control improvements along Modjeska Grade Road. The work consists of pavement reconstruction, construction of concrete ditches, inlets, junction structures, storm drain lines, and retaining wall, removal and installation of guardrail, installation of erosion control measures, adjusting utilities and appurtenances, and striping. Other items of work or details not mentioned above that are required by the Plans, Standard Specifications, or these Special Provisions, shall be performed, placed, constructed or installed The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract and a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract, said bonds to be first approved by the County Counsel and the Risk Manager of Orange County. Bond forms to be provided by County of Orange. The classification of Contractor's license required in the performance of this contract is Class-A Contractor's license issued by the California State Contractor's License Board.
