MDT is proposing to replace two existing timber structures in the Browning area with new bridges or culverts. The project may also include minor roadway work and approach guardrail improvements. The consultant will be responsible for providing all services necessary to complete the project design through full PS&E development. This includes, but is not limited to, bridge design; roadway design; geotechnical investigation, analysis, and design; surfacing design; survey; limited public involvement; environmental evaluation and permitting; hydraulic analysis and design; coordination with local agencies and other stakeholders; R/W design; and potentially R/W acquisition. The project is located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Glacier County near Browning, along N-1 / US 2 from approximately RP 229.0 to 229.8. The timber structures span Willow Creek (Structure #05045 in the Montana Bridge Inventory) and Flatiron Creek (Structure #05046 in the Montana Bridge Inventory).
