Renovation of a library in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.
Consulting services to review and provide options for entrance door replacement design. The main entrance was installed as part of the renovation/glass extension completed in 2018. The main entrance consists of a motion sensor double sliding door vestibule, measuring approximately 10'x 8' . Cambridge Public Library (CPL) is seeking proposals from qualified architectural, engineering or building envelope consultants to evaluate and provide options to replace the motion sensor double sliding doors in the main entrance vestibule. The current sliding doors only open to 35". We experience a great deal of maintenance and break/fix downtime with the current doors. The main objectives of the door replacement project: Entrance and doors to be in compliance with accessibility regulations and guidelines (AODA, City of Cambridge Facility Accessibility Design Standards 2024) Improving reliability of the doors Improving overall function of the doors, especially in winter weather Improving energy efficiency of the vestibule Scope of work includes but is not limited to: Providing at least two options Providing a full analysis of each option Providing a conceptual drawing of each option Class D estimates for each option prepared by a qualified cost estimating firm Question Deadline 09/29/2026 at 4:00 PM ET All enquiries related to this RFP are to be directed via email to Wayne Ramsey, Manager of Facilities: wramsey@cambridgepl.ca
