Site work and new construction of a communication facility in Rio Grande City, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a communication facility.
The Rio Grande City Public Library broadband infrastructure Project is intended to modernize the Library's internet and network infrastructure and enhance access to high-speed broadband services. The proposed improvements are intended to support: _ Education and digital learning; Workforce development; _ Public access to modern broadband services; Virtual and remote learning opportunities; Community telehealth access; and Other technology-based Library programs and services. The Project generally includes: l Replacement or improvement of outdated internet and network infrastructure; _ Extension of high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure to the Rio Grande City Public Library; Underground installation of the new fiber-optic connection; Installation of conduit and associated underground infrastructure; Installation, splicing, termination, and testing of fiber-optic cable; Installation or replacement of related broadband and network infrastructure; Connection and integration of new infrastructure with designated Library systems; Testing and commissioning of completed improvements; and Restoration of areas affected by construction.
