Surface preparation, repair, priming, and protective coating of designated exterior deck surfaces. The project consists generally of preparation and coating of the following areas: 1. Primary Pump Building Upper Slanted Roof Deck 2. Primary Pump Building Lower Deck 3. Headworks Building Deck The work is intended to restore and protect existing concrete and/or coated structural deck surfaces from continued deterioration and exposure to moisture, wastewater-related atmospheric conditions, chemicals, and other environmental conditions associated with a wastewater treatment facility. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, containment, surface-preparation equipment, coatings, safety equipment, transportation, disposal, and incidental items necessary to provide a complete and properly executed coating system. The successful Contractor shall be responsible for performing the work in accordance with this RFP, applicable manufacturer's written requirements, applicable industry standards, and all federal, State of Rhode Island, and local requirements. AREAS OF WORK 4.1 Primary Pump Building - Upper Slanted Roof Deck Prepare and coat the designated upper slanted roof deck of the Primary Pump Building. Work shall include, as applicable: Mobilization and site protection; o Removal of loose and deteriorated coating; o Removal of surface contamination; Abrasive blasting, mechanical preparation, pressure washing, or other approved preparation method; Removal of rust, corrosion products, laitance, efflorescence, biological growth, dirt, grease, oil, and other contaminants; Repair of minor surface imperfections; Priming; Application of intermediate and finish coats; Stripe coating of edges, corners, welds, penetrations, fasteners, joints, and other difficultto-coat areas; Inspection and testing; Touch-up; Cleanup and demobilization. The Contractor shall field verify the limits and dimensions of the work area prior to submitting a proposal. 4.2 Primary Pump Building - Lower Deck Prepare and coat the designated lower deck of the Primary Pump Building. The work shall include the same general preparation, repair, coating, inspection, protection, and cleanup requirements identified in this RFP. 4.3 Headworks Building Deck Prepare and coat the designated deck area associated with the Headworks Building.
