Renovation of an educational facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The University of British Columbia is inviting qualified proponents to submit for Electric Boiler Supply for the Academic District Energy System (ADES) Electric Boiler & Thermal Energy Storage Project (EBTES). The project involves the addition of electric boiler capacity and a thermal energy storage (TES) tank at the UBC Campus Energy Centre (CEC), as well as ancillary electrical infrastructure upgrades to support the new equipment. This infrastructure will ensure the ADES can meet increased energy demand from campus growth projections through to 2040, diversify low-carbon energy supply for increased resiliency and advance the UBC Climate Action Plan (CAP2030) emissions reduction goals. The proposed core infrastructure project involves the addition of 10 megawatts (MWs) of electric boiler capacity in the form of two 5MWs boilers as described in the attached documents.
