Culvert replacement project Culvert Replacement - Street Crossing Project Remove and replace the existing stormwater culvert extending between two existing drop inlets beneath the roadway. Scope of Work The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, traffic control , excavation, dewatering, backfill , compaction , pavement restoration, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. Culvert Removal o Remove approximately 115 linear feet of existing culvert pipe between existing drop inlets. Properly dispose of all removed materials off-site. Culvert Installation Furnish and install 115 linear feet of 18-inch diameter culvert pipe. Pipe shall be: HDPE or approved equal. Install pipe at existing inlet and outlet invert elevations. Maintain continuous flow and positive drainage. Bedding Provide a minimum 6-inch compacted 1" clean rock bedding beneath and around the pipe. Shape bedding to uniformly support the pipe. Connections Connect new 18-inch pipe to the existing drop inlets using watertight connections. Seal all annular spaces with non -shrink grout and approved materials. Repair any damage to existing structures. Backfill and Compaction Backfill with approved select material . From the top portion of the culvert pipe until the street restoration material is put down, the cover material shall consist of 1 " base rock ( providing and maintaining a minimum of 12 inches of cover over the pipe prior to final pavement restoration) Place in lifts not exceeding 8 inches. Compact to a minimum of 95% Standard Proctor density. Pavement Restoration Replace roadway base and pavement to match existing section and thickness. Restore shoulders, ditches, and disturbed areas to original condition. Traffic Control o Contractor shall furnish and maintain all traffic control in accordance with MUTCD requirements. Maintain emergency vehicle access at all times. Utility Protection Contractor shall contact Missouri One Call prior to excavation. Contractor is responsible for protecting existing utilities and repairing any damage caused by construction activities. Measurement and Payment Lump Sum Bid Item: Culvert Replacement - Complete in Place Includes removal of existing culvert, excavation, 1 " clean rock bedding, 115 LF of 18- inch culvert pipe, inlet connections, 1" base rock backfill , compaction, traffic control, pavement restoration, cleanup, and all incidentals necessary for a complete installation .
