Site work and outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field in Piqua, Ohio. Completed plans call for outdoor lighting for a playground / park / athletic field.

Installation of LED lighting at pickleball courts, including installation of six 30-foot tapered round steel lighting poles, 18 LED light fixtures, backlight fixture, and 200-amp electrical load center with underground secondary feeder from the transformer. The City of Piqua is accepting bids from licensed and certified electrical contractors for the expansion and installation of lighting at the Pickleball Courts in Pitsenbarger Park. The purpose of this project is to provide additional lighting to increase evening and nighttime accessibility and citizen usage of the courts. All work shall be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner and in accordance with the attached drawing, specifications, applicable electrical codes, and the requirements outlined below. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools , supervision, permits, and incidental items required to complete the project as specified. LIGHTING PACKAGE The lighting package shall include, at a minimum, the following: 1. Six (6) 30-foot tapered round steel lighting poles. 2. One (1) three-horn mounting bracket on each lighting pole. 3. Eighteen (18) LED light fixtures. 4. One ( 1) LED backlight fixture. 5. Specified lighting controls. 6. Include warranty on lights specified. SCOPE OF WORK The successful bidder shall furnish and install all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project, including but not limited to the following: 1. Install a 200-amp, single-phase, NEMA 3R load center, complete with main circuit breaker, branch circuit breakers, and surge protection, mounted on a free-standing structure. 2. Furnish and install a rigid metal free-standing support structure for the electrical equipment. 3. Furnish and install an underground 200-amp secondary feeder from the transformer to the electrical panel utilizing PVC conduit, including all necessary conductors and final connections at the panel. The secondary feeder conduit shall terminate approximately one ( 1) foot from the transformer. Final connections at the transformer will be completed by the local utility company. 5. Furnish and install a control cabinet on the free-standing structure, complete with the specified timer, contactors, switches, and associated wiring and components necessary for proper operation of the lighting system. 6. Furnish and install six (6) precast concrete pole bases within the existing blacktop area adjacent to the pickleball courts, in locations shown on the project drawing. 7. Furnish and install two (2) Quazite underground electrical ground boxes, located at the rear corners of the courts as shown on the project drawing. 8. Bore and install one (1 )-inch PVC conduit from the control panel to each lighting pole base, including all necessary fittings, sweeps, and pull strings. 9. Furnish and install one ( 1 ) additional 1 -inch PVC spare conduit, complete with pull string, from the control panel to the Quazite ground boxes. 10. Furnish and install six (6) 30-foot tapered round lighting poles, including all associated circuitry and electrical connections. 11. Furnish and install one ( 1 ) three-horn mounting bracket on each lighting pole. 12. Furnish and install eighteen ( 18) LED light fixtures, including mounting, wiring, aiming, and final electrical connections. 13. Furnish and install one (1 ) LED backlight fixture, including associated circuitry, mounting, and final electrical connections. 14. Furnish and install and program the specified lighting control system , including all necessary components for proper operation. 15. Obtain all required electrical permits and coordinate all required inspections associated with the project. 16. This project is being bid as a non-prevailing-wage project. Sales tax shall be excluded from the bid price. 17. Final electrical connections at the utility transformer shall be completed by Piqua Power, City's local provider. The contractor shall coordinate with the utility company as necessary to facilitate the final connection. 18. All excess spoils generated from excavation, boring, and installation activities shall be removed from the project site by the contractor. 19. Final grading and grass seed restoration are not included in the contractor's scope of work. 20. Patching and restoration of the existing blacktop are not included in the contractor's scope of work. 21. All work shall be inspected by local county inspection authority.
