The Rolling Meadows Park District invites qualified, licensed asbestos abatement contractors to submit sealed lump-sum bids for the Work described in this Project Manual. Scope Overview Abatement and disposal of asbestos-containing drywall and joint compound on walls and ceilings throughout the house and basement, and (as the first field phase) the garage. Selective demolition of kitchen and bathroom components, including all bathrooms and the basement bathroom, and of attached finishes (trim, paneling, wainscoting, shelving and closet components) as required to complete the drywall removal. Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing kitchen/dining linoleum, bathroom linoleum beneath ceramic tile, and basement 12-inch by 12-inch tan floor tile; the associated basement floor-tile mastic tested non-ACM and is removed under Bid Item 8 (Section 000415). Containment, negative-air and engineering controls, worker decontamination, regulated-area controls, waste handling, transportation and disposal, cleaning, regulatory notifications and permits, and closeout. Cooperation with the District's separately retained Environmental Consultant for area air monitoring and independent final clearance.
