The project includes demolition and modification of existing laboratory infrastructure required to support the new analyzer systems, including electrical , plumbing , drainage, deionized water, data, and utility connections. Work shall be performed in accordance with the equipment manufacturer's requirements and all applicable codes and standards. The laboratory will remain operational during the project. The selected contractor must be experienced in performing construction activities within an active healthcare environment and shall coordinate all work with Halifax Health Facilities, Engineering, Laboratory Services, and the equipment vendor to minimize disruption to patient care and laboratory operations. Cleanliness and infection control are imperative. All contractors and subcontractors working onsite must comply with Halifax Health requirements, including background screening, badging, safety protocols, infection control measures, and wearing company-identifying apparel at all times. The contractor shall provide a turnkey, all-inclusive scope of work in their bid proposal, including but not limited to the following: Coordinate all work with Halifax Health Facilities and Engineering, Laboratory leadership, Siemens representatives, and other stakeholders as required. Furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools , permits, testing, inspections, and project management necessary to complete the work. Perform demolition and site preparation as required to accommodate installation of the new Siemens Atellica laboratory analyzer systems. Modify existing electrical systems , including installation of new dedicated circuits, receptacles, grounding, and associated infrastructure required for analyzer operation. Provide and install all required plumbing, deionized water, drainage, and utility connections in accordance with manufacturer requirements and project drawings. Install floor drains, utility connections, and associated infrastructure necessary to support analyzer operation and maintenance. Provide required data, communication, and ancillary utility provisions necessary for equipment integration. Patch, repair, and restore all affected walls, ceilings, floors, and other building finishes impacted by construction activities. Coordinate utility outages, equipment delivery, installation activities, testing, startup, and commissioning with Halifax Health and the equipment vendor. Perform final testing, balancing , commissioning, and verification of all systems to ensure readiness for installation and operation of the new laboratory analyzer equipment.
