This is a Major Works contract offered within Columbia Zone - BCTS Okanagan-Columbia Business Area. This contract is for the removal and replacement of crossing N3-091. The current structure to be removed is a 12.2m steel girder with timber deck panel structure on lock block abutments, and it is to be replaced with a 15.24m x 4.88m All Steel Portable bridge structure on new lock block abutments, as per the included design General Arrangement Design and Structural Design drawings. Known Field Safety Hazards on this Contract Ministry staff and contractors, while planning and developing this project, have identified the following known field safety hazards associated with this project. Note this list does not identify routine safety hazards associated with forestry operations: Safety hazards beyond routine safety hazards associated with forestry operations. Slippery roads, Ice Avalanche and avalanche terrain Plowing vehicles Use of tires chains The crossing removal and replacement is part of future timber sale package preparations and is integral in providing access to proposed harvesting, as well as continued access beyond the crossing site. The project is located at an elevation of 1150m and is accessed via approximately 60km of maintained road (Bush River FSR and Hope Creek FSR). The site is accessed from Donald off Highway 1.
