Construction of a new 10,000 gross square foot pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) to serve as a Vehicle Storage Facility, featuring an administration bay, mezzanine, nine truck storage bays including two wash bays with waterproofed finishes and fixtures, concrete slab-on-grade with concrete aprons, demolition of three existing buildings, and associated site work including grading, asphalt and concrete paving, utility infrastructure, and installation of electric vehicle charging stations. The project will also include demolition of two existing maintenance garage buildings and a storage shed. Demo scope is to be broken out as Add Alternate #1 . CDOT has inspected for asbestos-containing materials (ACM ) and lead-based paint (LBP) in the structures to be demolished and found no materials (ACM or LBP) that require disposal as special waste prior to the Contractor occupying the site (however, regulated building materials (RBMs) are present and must be properly removed and disposed of prior to the beginning of demolition. See Item 4 below, and the reports at the end of the Specifications .) Additional structures in the existing maintenance yard include a sand shed, magnesium-chloride tanks with spillcontainment structure and several office and storage buildings. These structures are to remain operational and accessible to CDOT maintenance staff throughout the construction project. CDOT personnel will access these buildings via the southeast driveway while the Contractor rebuilds the entry gate access off Riverview Road , or as otherwise necessary.
