The Village of Glen Ellyn seeks bids from qualified contractors to remove and replace public sidewalk, curb and gutter, and concrete road pavement at various locations throughout the Village. This work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to restore Village right-of-way following utility repairs, which may include PCC curb and gutter, sidewalk, and/or driveway removal and replacement; full depth concrete patches; and/or HMA pavement patches. The Village's Utility Division makes approximately 15-20 utility repairs a year that require restoration. The Village anticipates that a maximum of three mobilizations will be required to complete restoration of these repair locations. The Village will provide the contractor with up to three lists of 5-10 repairs each. Repairs shall commence within 14 calendar days of the Village's initial notice to the Contractor and shall be completed within 15 working days of the Contractor's mobilization. Exceptions to this timeline will be made for repairs requiring State of Illinois or DuPage County permits. The contract season is weather dependent, but is expected to run from April through November. The amount of work under this contract will be subject to the actual number of utility pavement patch repairs required and the availability of funds for this work. Work (hereinafter referred to as "Work") shall mean the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and other incidentals necessary or convenient to the successful completion of the Project and the carrying out of all duties and obligations imposed by the contract. Work may also be used in context to describe, in whole or in part, the completed facilities to be constructed, altered or removed, as detailed in the contract. The Village will have exclusive authority to determine the intent and meaning of the usage of this term wherever it appears in the contract.
