Casing Material: Must comply with ASTM standards, using either approved steel (A53, A500, or A589) or heavy-duty PVC (F480). Grouting: The upper borehole space (the annulus) must be entirely sealed with bentonite or cement grout to block surface runoff from seeping into your drinking supply. Wellhead Height: The top of the casing must extend at least 12 inches above the finished ground grade to prevent floodwater intrusion
