Annual inspection, testing, certification, repair, and replacement services are required for approximately 105 backflow preventers (BFPs) and cross-connection control devices installed throughout a healthcare campus. Services include providing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, test equipment, travel, and management necessary to inspect, test, certify, repair, and replace devices in accordance with applicable plumbing codes, VA design standards, NEWWA requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and other applicable regulatory standards. Work includes verification and maintenance of device identification and inventory records; annual testing using calibrated equipment; completion of required testing and certification forms; inspection and testing of all devices; submission of annual reports with photographs, calibration certificates, testing documentation, and updated inventories; and completion of annual inspection requirements for the Miox backflow preventer. Corrective maintenance support includes identifying deficiencies, providing repair and replacement recommendations, furnishing replacement parts and materials, performing approved repairs and full connection-to-connection replacements, and retesting devices following corrective actions. The contractor shall coordinate outages and testing schedules, provide advance work plans, maintain compliance with safety, infection prevention, confined space, and Lockout/Tagout requirements, and ensure all testing personnel hold current NEWWA-approved certifications.
