The work consists of the installation of approximately 600 feet of 2 inch CTS water main and associated appurtenances. The work also consists of relocating six (6) water services to connect directly to a 16 inch ductile iron water main located on the west side of Riverside Drive. The work is located on Hummingbird Lane and Riverside Drive in Augusta, Maine. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of not less than 5 percent of the bid price and in the form described in the Information for Bidders. A performance and payment bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price will be required in the form described in the Information for Bidders. The District reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive any technical or legal deficiencies, and to accept any Bid that it may deem to be in the best interests of the District. All work is to be substantially completed by June 17, 2025 (including final paving). Project Description: The Greater Augusta Utility District (District) is putting out to bid a construction project Hummingbird Lane and Riverside Drive in Augusta, ME. The base bid work includes the installation of approximately 600 feet of new 2 inch CTS PE water main with associated valves and fittings, connecting six (6) water services to the existing 16 inch water main in Riverside Drive, 390 feet of 1 1/4 inch CTS PE tubing with associated valves and fittings, and reconstruction of the utility trenches with gravel and applicable paving as outlined on the plans. The work includes all materials, labor, and testing at outlined in this specification and as shown on the project plans. General Work Procedure: - Relocate six (6) water services to connect directly to the 16 inch DI water main on Riverside Drive. Includes ledge removal, connection, installation through foundation, and internal plumbing work by Master Plumber to relocate the water meter and perform required internal connections. - Install temporary water service lines on the south end of the project, and potentially the north end of the project depending on contractor ability to return water supply to customers after no more than 12 hours of taking them offline. - Perform test holes to locate existing water, sewer, and storm lines, if necessary. - Dig excavation pits for water main installation and service connections. - Install new 2 inch CTS PE water main inside the existing 6" cast iron water main running parallel to Riverside Drive. Connect five (5) water service lines to new 2 inch CTS PE water main. - Install rigid insulation where necessary. - Restore roadways with gravel and pavement per plans. - Restore all driveways with gravel, stone, or pavement. - Restore all lawn areas and areas of disturbed vegetation.
