Renovation of a mixed-use development in Augusta, Maine. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The contractor shall completely prepare the site for construction operations at the Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center, including demolition and removal of existing equipment, installation of temporary HVAC, electrical, chilled water, and steam systems, as well as commissioning/testing and implementing dust/infection control measures. The scope includes furnishing all labor and materials for the replacement of eight (8) air handlers located within hospital buildings 200 and 200E. The contractor is responsible for the removal and mitigation of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) and Lead Based Paint (LBP), including floor tile and mastic, within the project area. Additional requirements include providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for new electrical, controls, and communications systems in the renovated spaces. Mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection construction work, including necessary materials and equipment, are also part of the project. All work must be performed in accordance with design drawings and specifications to be provided in the forthcoming Request for Proposal. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
