Greater Augusta Utility District seeks proposals from qualified vendors to install and repair underground fiber optic cables. The selected vendor will: 1) Install a new 24 strand fiber optic cable through an existing empty 4" diameter, 4,000' long PVC conduit between the wastewater treatment plant and a structure near Memorial Bridge on the rail trail. 2) Troubleshoot and repair an existing daisy chained fiber optic network located on the Rail Trail between the wastewater treatment plant and Memorial Bridge in Augusta, Maine. The network has failed and needs to be spliced for repair; the failure location is known but cannot be fixed by in-house technicians. Submittal requirements: Describe the full cost of installing the 4,000' fiber optic cable including startup and verification testing. Include the cost to acquire and install switches and other equipment needed to complete the work. Provide a 2 year warranty on installed equipment. Provide the licensing fees for 3 years on the switches. Provide a time and materials proposal for work needed to repair the existing fiber network. Provide 4 (four) current customer references within a 20 mile radius of Augusta that can describe their installation and ongoing maintenance and support experiences to GAUD.
