The Bangor School Department is requesting proposals from qualified companies to provide a detailed assessment of the existing condition of Mary Snow School exterior masonry, provide a report detailing the restoration proposed, schedule for completion, and estimated cost to complete. All work to be completed by September 1, 2023. Qualified bidders must provide at least 5 similar projects, along with information detailing the scope, completed within the last 5 years. The summary of scope is as follows: - Provide a full evaluation of the brick structure. - Cut joints to a depth to remove all loose mortar, re-mortar and reinstall bricks; utilizing galvanized brick ties to mechanically tie new work to sound existing brick; mortar joints and repoint with mortar matching as closely as possible. - Remove and replace all spalled, cracked, or deteriorated brick with new brick to match existing as closely as possible. - Replace existing steel lintels above all window and door openings with galvanized steel. - Restore clean exterior masonry with a combination of restoration detergents and pressure washers. - Apply a wet-on-wet saturation coat of Alkoxysiloxane or equal damp proofing. - Replace all roof flashing for continuous seal. - Clean and caulk all sash and door perimeter joints with a high-grade elastomeric sealant. - Clean up and dispose of spent debris. The School Department will select the proposal that proves most beneficial to the School Department. The evaluation of the proposals and determination of the award will be at the discretion of the Bangor School Department and its judgement shall be final and without right of recourse by any proposer.
