**As of January 20, 2025, project is cancelled the district can’t afford the electrical upgrades necessary for the HVAC project..** MSAD 13/RSU 83 (the "Owner") seeks proposals from heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems mechanical engineers & mechanical contractors or mechanical system design-build firms to upgrade Moscow Elementary School & Upper Kennebec Valley Jr/Sr High School's HVAC system. We are looking for system designs that will allow for greater control of the HVAC system, provide heating and cooling features, increase energy efficiency, reduce costs, and would qualify for Efficiency Maine financial incentives. Interested individual or firm must be a licensed engineer in the State of Maine and are required to have previous experience working within a school setting. Questions concerning this RFP should be directed in writing to Scott Laweryson, Head of Maintenance and received no later than noon on Thursday, January 2, 2025 the original building was built in 1962 with the last major additions and renovations taking place in 2015. the school consists of approximately 34,525 square feet of floor space and serves students in 5th grade through 12th grade. the school currently has a buderus logano ge515 boiler with a gross output of 1391mbtu/hr which was installed over 20 years ago. the unit ventilators were installed when the building was built but were renovated in 2020. currently, a 10,000 gallon underground tank is located at this site. the outside air exchange is provided by the unit ventilators. there is no cooling system in this school. msad 13 wants to transition to a more energy efficient, fossil free system that utilizes heat pumps and variable refrigerant flow system (vrf).
