Site work and paving for a road / highway in Brunswick, Maine. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The project generally consists of: The full-depth reconstruction of approximately 2,600 linear feet of the existing roadway along Jordan Avenue in Brunswick, including: Minor horizontal and vertical re-alignment of the roadway Installation of a new closed stormwater drainage system including approximately 2210 linear feet of storm drain ranging from 15" to 18" diameter pipe. Most of the storm drainage piping will include perforation to also serve as roadway base underdrain. An additional 2400 linear feet of 6" underdrain will be installed to fill in areas not covered by storm drain piping. Replacement of existing 48-inch diameter corrugated metal cross culvert with 9' span x 7' rise precast concrete box culvert, stream bypassing, dewatering, and erosion/sedimentation control, and maintaining atleast one-way alternating traffic. Work includes supporting and protecting existing utilities. Construction of a new 8 - 10' wide bituminous shared-use path and associated esplanade Installation of granite curbing Construction of driveway ramps, ADA accessible ramps New guardrail and end treatments Planting of new trees and landscaping Resetting, relocation, and addition of street signage Maintaining at least one-way alternating traffic at all times Support and protection of existing utilities during construction Restoration and other ancillary work as described in the Contract Documents. All questions by prospective bidders pertaining to the Contract Documents, Plans and Specifications must be received, in writing, by the Engineer, at least five (5) days before the date set for the opening of the Proposals. Proposals will not be considered unless they are accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond of a security company satisfactory to the "Town Engineer" in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total bid price, made out in favor of the Town of Brunswick. Projects with a bid price below $250,000 do not require a bid bond. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311 in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the "Town Engineer", will be required of the successful bidder to insure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The Town reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to waive any formalities or informalities in the bidding process, and to award the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.
