Chip Haskell, P.E. chaskell@haleyward.com The Work shall generally consist of water system upgrades at Camden Hills State Park in Camden, Maine, including installation of new water storage tanks, demolition of existing storage cistern, installation of new water distribution mains with related valves and appurtenances, installation of new conduits for Data and Telecommunications, selective demolition of the existing wellhouse, and construction of a new wellhouse with associated MEP systems. The Work shall be completed in two (2) phases as follows: Phase I: This Phase shall consist of the installation of new water storage tanks and installation of new infrastructure along the access road to the maintenance and storage facilities. The proposed water storage tanks shall be placed on a new concrete pad, disinfected, and temporarily connected to the existing water main. The temporary connection shall include moving necessary controls from the existing storage cistern to the new tanks. The water manifold may be constructed, but only the piping from the bottom of the tanks shall be used during the temporary connection in order to bring the water tanks into service. This Phase shall also include the installation of new water main, valves, hydrants, and other water infrastructure appurtenances as well as the installation of new data conduits, pull boxes, and other appurtenances along the access road to the maintenance and storage facilities. This length of new infrastructure shall be capped with a valve on the water line and shall be connected to the new distribution main in Phase II. See the Drawings for highlighted portions of the Work corresponding to Phase I. Phase II: This Phase shall consist of the installation of new water distribution mains with related valves and appurtenances, installation of new data conduits and pull boxes, removal of the existing water storage cistern, selective demolition of the existing wellhouse, and construction of a new wellhouse with associated MEP systems as highlighted and detailed on the Drawings corresponding to Phase II and to complete the remaining portions of the Work.
