Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Canaan, Maine. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The lowest responsive bidder must have completed, or successfully complete, a bridge, or project specific prequalification to be considered for the award of this contract. Description: Maine Federal Aid Project No. NHPP-2187(800) WIN 021878.00, 2222600 WIN 022226.00 Location: In Somerset County, Canaan Bridge over Carrabassett Stream on Main Street/ Route 2/ Route 23 approximately 0.05 of a mile easterly of Easy Street. Hall Bridge is located on Hartland Road/ Route 23 over Black Stream approximately 0.47 of a mile northerly of Browns Corner Road. Scope of Work: Canaan bridge replacement and Hall bridge replacement plus other incidental work. MDOT@maine.gov, project name and identification number should be in the subject line. Questions received after 12:00 noon of Monday (or if that Monday is a state holiday, Friday) prior to bid date will not be answered. Bidders shall not contact any other Departmental staff for clarification of Contract provisions, and the Department will not be responsible for any interpretations so obtained. Each Bid must be made upon blank forms provided by the Department and must be accompanied by a bid bond at 5% of the bid amount or an official bank check, cashier's check, certified check, certificate of deposit, or United States postal money order in the amount of $145,000.00 payable to Treasurer, State of Maine as a Bid guarantee. A Contract Performance Surety Bond and a Contract Payment Surety Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price, will be required of the successful Bidder. This Contract is subject to all applicable Federal Laws. This contract is subject to compliance with the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program requirements as set forth by the Maine Department of Transportation.
