The Town of Casco is accepting bids to construct a 1,625 foot (approx.) walking trail. This project is developed with assistance provided by the Maine Grants & Community Recreation Program Bureau of Parks and Lands through the Federal Highway Administration Recreational Trails Program - Recreational Trails Program Project (RTP) project number RTP1951. Selection of the successful bidder will be at the discretion of the Town and will be based on the proposal that the Town deems to be the most responsive and acceptable. 1. Walking trail construction is to be completed between July 1, 2020 and November 1, 2020. 2. All services in the bid submission must comply with Federal, State and Local safety and ADA codes and requirements. 3. Questions regarding this project shall be submitted in writing to the Town no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 and must be received in writing. Responses to questions will be posted as an addendum on the Town website under Bid Opportunities. 4. Maine State Sales and Use Taxes should not be included in your quotation, as the Town is exempt from the payment of such taxes. 5. Successful bidder shall provide and maintain liability and other insurance reasonably satisfactory to the Town. Bidder shall provide and maintain general liability coverage with a limit per occurrence of not less than $1,000,000 and an annual aggregate limit of $2,000,000 and auto liability coverage per occurrence of not less than $1,000,000 and an annual aggregate limit of $2,000,000. Successful bidder shall maintain employer liability coverage with a limit of not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence. A Certificate of Insurance proving adequate coverage must be included with bid submission. 6. Successful bidder waives all rights against the Town, including any right of or for subrogation, for damages to the extent covered by the employer liability policy required by this Section. Proof must be included with bid submission. 7. Nothing herein shall, nor is intended to, waive any defense, immunity or limitation of liability which may be available to the Town or their respective officers, agents and employees, under the Maine Tort Claims Act or any other privileges and/or immunities provided by law.
