Renovation of a detention facility in Farmington, Maine. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

The Franklin County Commissioners and Sheriff Scott Nichols invite proposals from qualified, professionals to remove and replace the existing Emergency Generator and related equipment located at the Franklin County Jail. The Franklin County Commissioners reserve the right to extend this deadline by providing a written addendum to the Request for Proposal. Proposals submitted by facsimile or electronic mail will not be considered. The Franklin County Commissioners (herein referred to as the County) requests proposals for the removal of the existing Emergency Generator and related equipment to include but not limited to the replacement of current diesel engine, gauges and related, switch gear unit and needed wiring. The proposal should also include the installation of a new generator with the capacity to supply emergency generation for the facility and planned expansion. The location of the work will be at 121 County Way, Farmington, Maine and 123 County Way, Farmington, Maine. 1. The firm awarded the contract will properly disconnect and remove the existing diesel engine, and related switch gear and controls. The removal of the existing generator should be priced separately in the proposal. Any disconnection or new controls should be included in the replacement portion of the bid. 2. Following a required site visit and review of existing conditions and needs, the firm will develop an engineered plan with specifications to present as a proposal. 3. Install new equipment that meets or exceeds all Federal and Local code requirements and meets the need for the facility. 4. Perform any and all tests after installation to ensure proper operation of all equipment. Coordinate and execute all local and state inspections and test requirements to include securing operating permits if applicable. Provide any training for staff on routine maintenance of the new generator. 5. The installing contractor to list any and all applicable changes to the current enclosed walls, floor or pads prior to installation of the equipment or provide new pad and other equipment to move location of the Emergency Generator. The contractor shall ensure proper installation of equipment and safety of staff while performing required preventive or routine services to equipment. 6. The specifications for a new unit should be the most efficient operation and fueling system. 7. Installing contractor to provide full documentation sets and drawings for all equipment installed.
