Project / Work Description: MSAD #41 is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to provide snow plowing and ice control services for the Marion C. Cook School campus located at [20 Howland Rd, LaGrange, Maine]. The services shall cover driveways, parking lots, walkways, fire lanes, and other school grounds as designated by MSAD #41. Contract Term: From November 10th, 2025 to May 1, 2026 (one winter season). Scope of Work / Requirements: 1. Plow and Clear Snow: Employ plowing methods that maintain continuity of operations with adjacent plow routes, ensuring snow is not pushed from one area into another's cleared zone. Avoid damage to curbing, landscaping, pavement edges, sidewalks, or utilities. Snow shall be pushed to designated snow storage areas. 2. Ice Control / Anti-icing / Deicing: Apply salt or salt-sand mix as needed to maintain safe surfaces. Use materials in accordance with Maine Department of Transportation (Maine DOT) standards. Surfaces must be bare after each winter weather event. 3. Response Time: Begin plowing after accumulation has reached a depth of 2 inches on the pavement or as stipulated. Return visits may be required during storm events to maintain safety as directed by MSAD #41. 4. Equipment & Personnel: Maintain adequate equipment and operators to ensure timely completion. Provide a list of available equipment and backup units. 5. Coordination & Inspections: Work shall be coordinated with the MSAD #41 Facilities Director or designee, who reserves the right to inspect and require corrective action. 6. Insurance, Bonds & Licenses: Contractor must provide the following proofs of insurance with bid: a.) One million dollar liability naming MSAD #41 as additional insured. b.) Certificate of Worker's Compensation insurance. Bids must include: - Completed bid form - Proof of insurances - Equipment list - References for similar contracts Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, determined by total bid evaluation. MSAD #41 reserves the right to reject any or all bids when deemed in its best interest. General Conditions - Contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Contractor shall indemnify and hold harmless MSAD #41 from liabilities arising from the work. - MSAD #41 reserves the right to terminate the contract for cause with proper notice
