Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Lewiston, Maine. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Replace the four granite wingwalls with new retaining walls. The stacked granite curbing walls have failed and are causing erosion of the pavement in the road. The granite bridge abutments also have large voids between the blocks that need to be repaired so this scope includes rehab of the abutments along with scour prevention to avoid future failure of the road and the bridge itself. This project is expected to provide a 30-year life expectancy on the bridge before any more major work is required. This project is in included in the City of Lewiston FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of May 14, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
