Site work and paving for a civil project in Lewiston, Maine. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

Project will be rebid but no definite date yet.** The work for the ROSEDALE STREET, MARSTON STREET & LINCOLN DRIVE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT & ROAD REHAB consist of, but not be limited to, the complete and satisfactory construction of installation of: - 700 CY Aggregate Base - 100 CY Aggregate Subbase - 900 Ton 19mm Hot Mix Asphalt - 700 12.5mm Hot Mix Asphalt - 170 Ton Hand Placed Pavement - 10 LF 2" Fusible HDPE Water Main - 980 LF 6" DI Water Main - 1,000 LF 8" DI Water Main - 12 LF 12" DI Water Main - 920 LF 3/4 " Water Services - 2 Hydrant Installations - 1 LS Furnish & Install Temporary Water Services - 57 VF 4' Dia. Sanitary Manhole, Frame, Cover - 6 LF 6" Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe - 91 LF 8" Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe - 10 LF 12" Solid SDR35 PVC Pipe - 1,000 LF Slipform Concrete Curbing - 210 LF Vertical Granite Curbing Work within Rosedale Street will include new water main construction, miscellaneous sewer main work and full-width street re-paving. Work within Marston Street will include new water main construction followed by trench re-paving. Work within Lincoln Drive will include new water main construction, miscellaneous sewer main work and full width street re-paving. All work on this contract must be completed by no later than August 30, 2026. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon deliverance of a signed Contract or, if no Contract award is made, within forty-five (45) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work. Interested bidders must register with the Purchasing Agent either through direct response to the City's RFP solicitation at mryerson@lewistonmaine.gov or by contacting the Purchasing Agent Allen Ward at 207-513-3040 or award@lewistonmaine.gov to be added to the bidders list. Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to Faith Thomas (fthomas@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, June 4, 2025. Each bidder is required to state in his/her Proposal his/her name and place of residence and the names of all persons or parties interested as principals with him/her; and that the Proposal is made without any connection to any other bidder making any Proposal for the same work; and that no person acting for, or employed by, the City of Lewiston is directly or indirectly interested in the Proposal or in any contract which may be entered into to which the Proposal relates, or in any portion of the profits there from, except as provided by the City Charter. The Contractor shall give his/her personal attention constantly to the faithful prosecution of the work, shall keep the same under his/her personal control and shall not assign, by power of attorney or otherwise, nor sublet the work or any part thereof, without the previous written consent of the Purchasing Agent; and shall not, either legally or equitably, assign any of the money payable under this Agreement or his/her claim thereto, unless by and with the like consent of the Purchasing Agent. Proof of insurance coverage will also be required from the subcontractor and any liabilities on the part of the subcontractor will be the responsibility of the contractor under his contract with the City and the City will be held harmless. The contractor shall take all necessary affirmative action steps to assure that qualified minority businesses, women's businesses, and labor surplus area firms are included in the hiring of any subcontractor working on this City project.
