The Town of Lincolnville, Maine is requesting bids for the supply and delivery of approximately 850 tons of sodium chloride (rock salt) for the 2025/2026 winter season. Event Bid Description: All bids shall represent a total, all inclusive, price per to of sodium chloride delivered to the Lincolnville Sand/Salt Building located adjacent to the Lincolnville Town Office at 493 Hope Road (aka State Route 235) in Lincolnville, Maine. The contract shall end, without notice, on June 30, 2026. The quantity of sodium chloride requested shall be considered an estimate, based on historical usage, and shall only be used for the purpose of bid comparison. The selected vendor shall in no way impose a penalty; refuse or delay delivery; or increase the unit price should the Town fail to purchase the estimated quantity or exceed the estimated quantity. The sodium chloride must meet with specification contained herein and the vendor must be able to meet the requirements for product delivery. The moisture content of the sodium chloride at the time of delivery shall be 0.5% or less. Sodium chloride delivered with a higher moisture content may be rejected by the Town at its sole discretion. Delivered salt must be free flowing and in usable condition. Supplier may uniformly treat salt with an anti-caking conditioner. Unless otherwise approved, the Town of Lincolnville will receive deliveries between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Request for deliveries of sodium chloride shall be delivered with 48 hours of the initial request unless otherwise approved by the Public Facilities Director. At the time of delivery of each load, a delivery slip shall be left at the facility or at the town office. The delivery slip shall clearly show the date of delivery, time of delivery, net weight, tare weight and gross weight of that delivery. The removal of rejected loads will be entirely at the expense of the supplier.
