Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Millinocket, Maine. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.

The work generally consists of the following tasks: abatement of asbestos-containing materials, removal of universal/hazardous waste, and demolition of the former Jims building (slab to remain). Electronic versions of plans and specifications are available at no charge upon request from Nick Sabatine and Aaron Martin (email above). Paper copies of plans and specifications will not be issued. This project is funded through a federal U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Grant. Each bidder shall take special notice of the guidance and project goals for use of Minority and Woman Business Enterprises in sub-agreements. The Contractor shall comply with Davis Bacon and Davis Bacon Related Acts (DBA) and the Build America Buy America (BABA) Act. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. SCOPE OF WORK o Mobilization, demobilization, site preparation, and site cleanup. o Removal and proper disposal of all identified ACM, in accordance with Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) regulations. This is inclusive of all necessary ACM-related permits, approvals, work plans, and air clearances which may be required by MEDEP. o Removal and proper disposal of universal wastes, dry cleaning chemicals, and other potentially hazardous materials present in the Site building prior to building demolition. o Demolition of the Site building. Proper off-site disposal and/or recycling of demolition materials from the property. The concrete slab is to remain in place; o Coordination with Maine Water to disconnect municipal water service to the building. Coordination with the municipal Wastewater Treatment Department to disconnect sewage service. Coordination with Versant Power to disconnect electricity to the building and/or confirm that the electrical connection has been terminated. Contractor is responsible for performing all utility disconnections in a manner approved by the appropriate utility provider; o Obtaining all necessary permits to perform the work; and o Providing and maintaining necessary engineering controls to contain potentially nuisance dusts from impacting the public, workers at the site, or occupants of adjacent properties or public ways.
