This project consists of the replacement of Mill Bridge #0618, which carries Lynch Road over Dyer Creek in the Town of Newcastle, ME. Question Deadline 08/08/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Questions received less than fourteen calendar days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The existing three-sided concrete culvert structure is to be replaced by a 50-foot span steel girder superstructure bridge on concrete abutments founded on glacial till and bedrock. Work includes stream realignment and restoration as well as approach roadway work. Total project length is approximately 337.5 feet. The site is Mill Bridge carrying Lynch Road over Dyer Creek in Newcastle, Maine. The site location is shown on the "Site Location Map" attached in Appendix B. Based on available information, we understand the existing crossing was constructed in 2010 and consists of +-14-foot span, concrete box culvert. We understand the existing structure was constructed prior to the dam removal and release of Sherman Lake. Since the removal of the dam, we understand the existing channel has reportedly scoured up to 3 feet and the structure has reportedly settled 3 to 4 inches.
