The Lyseth School Playground is a small community playground in the North Deering neighborhood. This play space anchors Lyseth Elementary School's outdoor play area for approximately 500 students, and is adjacent to the Lyman Moore and Lyseth school multipurpose fields as well as the Pine Grove Park Trail and Bramble wood Drive neighborhood. The space is a blend of active play equipment, asphalted recreation space, trail and pathways, and woodlot edges for natural building and fairy house construction. Maximum school group size is approximately 8 classes, or 160 kids, whose play areas include a large multipurpose field, asphalt courts areas, playground and in wooded play areas. Typical class use of play equipment areas could be 2 - 3 classes, or 40 - 60 children. See appendix A below for existing conditions, site diagram, and photos. Total square footage of playground renovation space is approximately 11,000 square feet. Improvement priorities will focus on providing additional swing elements, introducing new vertical and traverse climbing opportunities, creating an internal area for natural play, and resolving existing drainage issues. A new double loop play pathway, and play area edging / borders will also be prioritized. These and other elements will be constructed based on available funding. Current budget allocates $167,000 for play equipment
